Part 1: Write a 175-225 word informative short essay about kites. Questions to consider kites to help you...

What is the history of kites?

What are kites used for today?

Are there or where there practical uses for kites?

What is the purpose of the kites tail?

What are the minimal requirements for a kite?

The tone of the paper is up to you but make it informational and about kites! Cite a minimum of two sources in MLA or APA format. If you questions about the citations, see me. All work and writing must be ORIGINAL. Plagiarism and copying others' work will result in a 0.

Part 2: Draw a kite on a piece of graph paper. Calculate the length of all sides and diagonals of the kite, the angles of the 4 right triangles formed by the diagonals of the kite, and calculate the slope of the sides and diagonals. Show all work neatly. Label all measurements on your figure.

Part 3: Extra Credit! Build a kite and turn it in no later than Monday, April 21st! Your kite must be homemade, kite kits will not be allowed.
